Board of Education
Lisa Cammuso was educated in the Southington public school system and is a strong believer in its ability to nurture healthy growth and success for children. She is a lifelong resident of Southington with extended family roots in town. While attending Southington High School, she attended Girls State and was elected Attorney General in a mock election during a week of intense education related to public service in the state of Connecticut. Lisa then attended Boston College and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, with a concentration in Psychology and History. She then chose to continue her education at Central Connecticut State University, studying International Studies in a Master’s program. Soon after, Lisa began her career in the corporate world with a consulting firm, becoming certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and working with many Fortune 500 companies. This profession taught her to be team oriented and collaborative and educated her on how to balance a budget with quality and accuracy. On a quest to realize work-life balance, she became a certified yoga teacher and enjoys sharing her passion for yoga with others.
Lisa is a former Board of Education member, having served as a member of the Policy & Personnel committee, numerous subcommittees, and several negotiating teams for contracts with various bargaining groups. She has since been volunteering with the Southington Education Foundation and was appointed to a position on the Southington Senior Citizen Commission.
If elected, Lisa would be honored to act in service of the town of Southington, making informed decisions while keeping the students of Southington at the focal point of every decision and promoting an environment for children to grow and succeed.
