Town Council

Ms. Christina Volpe, B.A., received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History, with a minor in Public History from Central Connecticut State University in 2018. She is currently in her final semester of her Master Degree in Public History at Central Connecticut State University. She has served as a Connecticut State Historic Preservation Office Intern, Chief Archivist and Curator for the John Howard Whittemore & Harris Whittemore Jr., Trust, Naugatuck, Connecticut, the Assistant Curator for the Mattatuck Museum & Historical Society, Waterbury, Connecticut, and as the Communications Director & Program Manager for the Connecticut League of History Organizations in New Britain, Connecticut, and currently serves as the Secretary for the Connecticut Freedom Trail Planning Committee in Hartford, Connecticut. She is the current 2019 Connecticut State Historic Preservation Office Fellow.

Ms. Volpe began her undergraduate degree in 2009 at the American University of Rome in Rome, Italy. After starting a family in 2011, Ms. Volpe completed her higher education at a later point in life. She comes to the field of historic preservation with a keen interest in architectural and historical investigations, and in her various previous appointments, Ms. Volpe became trained and proficient in various aspects of cultural resources recordation and historical investigation in relation to planning and survey development. She has prepared various historical reports, inventories, and collections related to historic architecture and related archives. She also has been routinely engaged in various steering committees and public outreach efforts. She excels in the latter and, as noted above, was the Communications Director & Program Manager for the Connecticut League of History Organizations, which is known to be a prestigious post among Connecticut historians.
