Dave Derynoski
James Sinclair was born September 15th, 1979 in New Britain and attended St Francis Catholic School (now Pope John Paul II School). He moved to Southington in 1994 with his family and attended Southington High School freshman though senior year. After high school he attended Central Connecticut State University for Accounting. Jim currently works for DellaVecchia Funeral Home. Jim, his wife and 15 month old son are proud to call Southington home.
Jim serves in many fraternal and community groups. He is a Past Master and former Secretary of the Southington Masonic Lodge as well as many other positions. Jim held the position of chairman of the Grand Lodges Strategic Planning Committee. Jim has worked with Relay for Life as a member of the Logistics Committee, a member of the Greater Southington Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Development and Marketing Committee, as well as other groups. Jim attends Mary Our Queen Church. Previously, he was an usher at St. Maurice Church in New Britain.
Jim was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission in 2005 as an alternate commissioner. In August 2006, he was appointed to fill a vacancy as a “full” commissioner. Since 2006, Jim worked with the Commission on the Plan of Conservation and Development, the subcommittee for Subdivision regulations, the subcommittee for Adult Oriented Businesses, and the subcommittee for Continuous Improvement. From 2008 till 2010, Jim was Secretary for the Commission.
Jim supports regulation changes that implement resource based zoning and smart and sustainable growth especially for our industrial and commercial tax base.
