Board of Finance
Occupation: Retirement Plan Administrator
Effie is a first generation American whose parents owned and operated a successful restaurant for 35 years. Growing up in a restaurant is where she learned the importance of community and giving back, and it taught her about adapting to economic fluctuations. She learned the importance of teamwork and a strong work ethic. She learned how to make prudent financial decisions on a daily basis, while also planning for the long term.
Effie is an experienced leader in the financial industry. She has spent 20 years in the retirement sector and has honed her skills as a problem solver. She believes in gathering facts and making measured, informed decisions.
Effie wants to see our local government be transparent and work collaboratively to get tangible results that provide taxpayers the maximum return on investment. Southington residents deserve a Board of Finance who will listen to their priorities and concerns, who can work together to find practical solutions, and one that is focused on a bright future for Southington. Effie is eager to roll up her sleeves and get to work for our Town.
Volunteerism: One of Effie’s favorite things about Southington is the commitment to giving back and the many opportunities available to volunteer. Effie currently serves on the Conservation Commission and she and her family have been proud to take part in blood drives, food drives, and various other events in town.
