Candidate, Town Council
Anthony “Tony” Mazzarella is a lifelong Southington resident and active member of the community. Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, this is Tony’s first endeavor in Southington politics after many years as a member of various local non-profit boards, a volunteer and respected coach in the Southington community.
Since graduating from Southington High School (Class of 2000) Tony has had a successful career as a technologist and Data Management professional, as a Southington business owner and more recently as an executive in the Financial Services industry. He is currently the Director of Data Governance for Windsor-based Voya Financial, a role which requires bringing a diverse group of people to solve complex problems. He is also finishing a Business Degree with a focus in Organizational Leadership at Charter Oak State College. Tony currently serves as the President of the Data Management Association of New England and is a past officer of the global non-profit DAMA International which has thousands of members and operates in more than 50 locations globally, both are professional associations dedicated to advancing the practices of information and data management.
Tony’s belief that education and character are the foundation of a strong community is reflected in his commitment to Southington’s youth. He is a former assistant football and lacrosse coach at Southington High School and a former coach and board member of the Southington Lacrosse Association, Southington Valley Midget Football League and Connecticut Valley Youth Lacrosse League; as well as former scout leader. Tony currently teaches religious education at Mary Our Queen Church in Plantsville.
Tony lives on the north end of town with his wife and their five children.
