Candidate, Town Council
I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. My husband Paul and I, moved to Southington in 2009. We have 2 young children. I am running for my second term on the town council.
I attended Siena College in Albany, NY on a division I swimming scholarship and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. I worked for a public accounting firm focusing on municipal government audits until she accepted a position as a special agent in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), stationed in Los Angeles, CA. After years in Los Angeles spent investigating money laundering and drug trafficking Paul and I decided that we wanted to start a family, but my career as a federal agent was not conducive to the family life we envisioned. I resigned from the DEA and accepted a position with ESPN where I am currently the Director of Facilities, Security & Safety Operations at ESPN in Bristol, CT.
I am an active member of the Flanders PTO and YMCA. My family and I are members of the Southington Bread for Life, partaking in their family initiatives programs. We are members of St. Dominic’s Church and a volunteer at the St. Philips house in Plainville, CT. I am active in the Southington Youth soccer program and the leader of brownie troop 61150.
These past two years on the town council has taught me so much about the community and the function of our town government. It takes time to get up to speed, to be able to offer perspective on historical issues. I am ready to provide two more years, taking that knowledge and putting it to good use in the community on tough issues that are community focused. I will continue to ask questions that push the envelope. I will not be complacent. We must continue to look for efficiencies, synergies and focus on what is best for Southington. I want to continue to support the future of the community I have come to love, where I am raising my family. I believe that the community and everyone in it deserve a voice.
