Occupation: Sales and Marketing Manager, Reno Machine Co.

Dave Derynoski has been a member of the Board of Education since 1991 and served as Chairman for 8 years. He was born and raised in Southington and is a proud graduate of Southington Public Schools. Dave has a track record of advocating for student achievement and has been a strong supporter for optimum elementary school class sizes and school safety. He has been a champion for technology education in the district and emphasized team building among all educational areas and local government boards. He believes that a strong community begins with an excellent educational system. He is especially proud that the Southington School System has become a national model for its curriculum enhancements and successes in special education.

Volunteerism: Dave has served as a member of various committees related to Southington Schools, including the Derynoski Elementary School and the Southington High School VO-AG, Plantsville School and South End School building committees. He’s currently a member of the Technology Advisory Board at Southington High School focusing on enhancing educational connections with local businesses. He also serves on the Board of Education’s Personnel & Policy, and Finance Committees. His dedication to community service was recognized with the 2009 Southington Chamber of Commerce Public Service Award.
